This piece was my first attempt at making a found object/shadow-box construction. It took several months, and several tries to get it to a place where I was happy.

I had really good materials - a great wooden picture frame which dictated the size and shape, gorgeous antique buttons that needed to be shown, iron flowers, vintage piano sheet music, and some funny ghost-like drawings created by my son.

 

If anyone was wondering, the young boy holding a sword is not my son - just a photo that I cut out of a magazine that I thought would be a perfect fit.
